Korean lash lift aftercare: Do's and don'ts for the first 48 hours

Quick note, especially if you just saw Emily and loved how kind, quick, and efficient the appointment felt. The most important rule is simple: keep your lashes completely dry for 24 to 48 hours. No shower spray, no steam, no pool, no sweat-soaked workout. That dry window is what protects the lift and the tint you just paid for.

The first 24 to 48 hours: the “dry lashes” rules that matter most
Think of the first two days as your set time. We generally recommend treating your lashes like they can’t get wet at all.
Non-negotiable for 24 to 48 hours: Keep lashes dry. Avoid steam, pools, hot tubs, saunas, heavy sweating, and rubbing.
Do this
- Wash your face at the sink and keep splashes off your lash line.
- If you need to clean around the eye, use a lightly damp cotton swab and stay on the bone area, not the lashes.
- If lashes feel a little “stuck” from sleeping, don’t pick. Wait until after the dry window, then use a clean spoolie to separate.
Skip this
- Mascara and eye makeup for the first 48 hours. Let the tint do its job.
- Mechanical curlers or heated lash tools. They can kink lifted lashes.
- Oil-based anything on or near the lashes for at least 48 to 72 hours. Oils can break down the lift and fade tint faster.
Wexford weather matters here. In July, heat and sweat can sneak up on you fast, especially if you’re running errands around the Perry Highway corridor. If you know you’re a heavy sweater, plan lighter movement for two days. Your lashes will thank you.
Days 3 to 7: keep the lift “fluffy, ” keep the tint crisp
After 48 hours, you can go back to normal life, including showers. But your first week is where maintenance habits lock in that clean, lifted look.
A pattern we see with first-timers is this. When your appointment feels quick and easy, it’s tempting to treat your lashes like nothing happened. That’s usually when the lift drops sooner than it should.
Your week-one routine
- Cleanse gently with an oil-free face wash around the eye area.
- Brush once a day with a clean spoolie, especially if you sleep on your side.
- If you wear eye makeup, remove it carefully and avoid soaking the lashes in remover.
Still avoid (or limit)
- Heavy oils and oily eye creams right up to the lash line.
- Aggressive rubbing, picking, or “checking” the curl with your fingers.
- Over-mascara. If you choose mascara after 48 hours, go light and focus on the tips.
Pool season is real around Wexford and Cranberry Township. After your 48-hour window, swimming is fine, but rinse your face after and don’t let sunscreen and oils sit on your lash line all day.
Oil-free products + one clean spoolie: the simple maintenance combo
You don’t need a drawer full of special products to protect a Korean Lash Lift + Tint. You need two things: oil-free cleansing and gentle separation.
Cleansers and moisturizers
Stick to oil-free around the eye area, especially in the first 72 hours. If your usual moisturizer is rich, keep it below the orbital bone so it doesn’t migrate into your lash line.
Spoolie brushing
Brush once a day with a clean spoolie. A quick sweep lifts lashes back into place and prevents that crisscross look that can happen after sleep.
Optional serum

If something looks “off” after 72 hours, we want to see it
Most of the time, lashes settle beautifully once you’re past the dry window. But if you hit day three and they look flat, uneven, or like one eye didn’t take as well, reach out. We’ll take a look and talk through what happened, including any steam, sweat, or oil exposure that might have softened the lift.
